What's a Promethean Board (Smart Board)?

If you're not sure, just ask one of our 5th grade students!
Although I believe the teachers are just as excited as the students!! The PTA has just assisted the school in funding Promethean Boards for some of the 5th grade classrooms. The Promethean boards are a wonderful classroom tool. They give the educator the ability to integrate traditional instruction with the
internet, flip charts, games and many other interactive activities. The teachers can create their own activities, or download numerous already created activities and flip charts. The boards allow the children to interact with the lesson, allowing deeper understanding of the material being taught, and allowing many
different learning styles to be served simultaneously. We are hoping that over the summer with all of the PTA and school's hard work that the rest of 5th, all of 4th grade and possibly 3rd grade will have Promethean Boards in their classrooms. What a wonderful addition to our large upper grade classes!
